London Shows!
Hey Folks!

We have some London shows coming up.

On Saturady 23rd June I'll be doing an acoustic set at The Gladstone Arms. I'll be opening up then playing drums for Brutalligators - should be a great night.

Then... on Tuesday 10th July me and my band will be playing at The Monarch in Camden. We're on at around half 9 so shouldn't be too late for a school night. Come on down!

See you there
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Last night we had the launch party for our first ever full band EP – Catch A Train. Thank you so much to those of you who came, danced, clapped, and sang along. It’s always nerve racking putting on a show, hoping that people will show up but you did and it was lovely.

Thank you to the legendary Bob Mardon for having us, to Billy for a fantastic job on the sound, and to all the staff at Club 85 for your continued hard work. I have been playing at Club 85 for years and it is always a complete pleasure.

Thank you to Elswhere for coming down and showing everybody how it’s done. Thank you to the great Harrison Rimmer for fitting us into his hectic schedule, I don’t know how long it will be before we play together again but I hope it’s not too long! And of course, thank you to Luke Murphy-Wearmouthand Paul Wade of Brutalligators for kicking off the night with a stripped down acoustic set. We are playing as a full band at The Monarch in Camden on Wednesday night, you should all come.

The EP is out and available online in all the usual places. Thank to those who bought a CD last night, if anyone would like one then come down to a show or let me know and I’m sure we can get one to you. We started recording the EP two years ago and I’m so happy that is finally out for you to enjoy.

I would also like to thank my amazing band members - Simon James, Danny, and Yann Mounot. It is such a pleasure to share the stage with such talented musicians and after years of playing solo, I can’t describe how much fun it is to be making more noise again.

This afternoon I’m starting work on the demos for the next EP, which I hope will be with you before the end of the year. That may not happen but I promise that it will not be another two years!

Over the next few months we’re going to be booking lots of shows, putting together music videos and live performance videos for you to enjoy, and just generally trying to get this show on the road. I’m sorry for clogging up my friend’s news feeds for the last few weeks, I will try to keep the majority of it on my facebook page and website from now on. If you haven’t done so already, please like the page, follow us on Instagram and twitter, subscribe to the youtube channel, and click whatever buttons on whatever social media platforms you can find. That way I can keep you updated with everything that’s going on.

I hope you all had a good night!

Thank you, and here’s to the next one.

New Single!
Hey Folks,

We have a new single!

The song is called Catch A Train and it is the first track from our upcoming EP. It's a song about getting home from work, putting it all behind you, and getting away for a little while.

Last summer me and my girlfriend caught a train to Brighton for the day in an attempt to find some sunshine. It wasn't particularly sunny but we had a lovely time anyway.

I hope you enjoy the track, the four track EP will be released on the 12th May. It will be available on iTunes, Spotify, and all the usual places.

On Saturday the 12th we are having a launch party at Club 85, Hitchin. Me and my lovely band will be playing the EP in full as well as some new tracks which will hoepfully be on the next EP.

Please share the video with your friends, tell us what you think, and I hope to see you very soon!

Thank you Gateshead!
Last night me and Harrison played at Arch Sixteen in Gateshead. We were joined by the lovely Holly Rees. Thank you so much to everybody who came out and made it such a great night. I'm about to head down to Leeds, tonight we play at Verve. Friday we finish up in Hitchin at The Victoria. I hope to see some friendly faces to round off the tour. See you there! Rhys x
Loose Ends - My new EP

I have a new EP! I have recorded four songs, written over the last four years, so that I can tie up some loose ends before moving onto the full band stuff later on this year.

The EP contains

1 - My iPhone is ruining my life

2 - Flat Pack Bad Back

3 - My Friend Jack

4 - Heartbroken

To celebrate finally releasing something, I'm going on a little tour up and down the country during half term. Me and Harrison Rimmer will be playing four shows.

13th Feb - Dusk, York

14th Feb - Arch Sixteen Cafe, Gateshead

15th Feb - Verve Bar, Leeds

16th Feb - The Vic, Hitchin

Please come along and pick up a copy of the EP, it should be fun!

Thank You!
We did it! We raised over £1000 for The National Brain Appeal.

Thank you to everyone who came to Neurobeat on Friday, thank you to Bob and the guys at Club 85 for letting us put the event on, and thank you to all the great bands who played.

It was the first gig with our new drummer Yann and it felt tighter than ever!

We have a load of gigs booked in for the summer, a mixture of acoustic and full band shows. More information over on the 'Live' page.

We are putting the finishing touches to our new single and the EP, hopefully we can get it done before I move house at the end of the month and we will have some new music for you very soon.

Next full band show is at The Horn, St Alband - 2nd August. I have some tickets so get in touch if you want one!

I have a load of acoustic gigs coming up over the next couple of months, including some trips down to london! Here is the list as it stands, you can find more info on our 'Live' page.

Neurobeat @ Club 85 will be the first full band gig with our new lineup! We have a new drummer and things are starting to sound very nice indeed.

More info on all of that soon, in the meantime I hope to see you at a show soon.
Bedford Esquires with Gaz Brookfield
What a night!

The day started with a brake caliper seizing on my car. I arrived into work with smoke billowing out from the wheel arch... I managed to drag it over to a local garage after work and blag a lift back to Bedford where I grabbed my guitar and headed to the pub. I met Gaz outside a pub by the river just in time to steal the last few hours of sun before we headed to the gig.

I haven't played at Esquires since I was about 16,  in a pop punk band with some mates from school. I'm pleased to say that it hasn't changed much! A new carpet and a lick of paint in the green room but the stage is still as sticky, the sound still the best around, and a great night had by all. Gaz's set was awesome, great to see him do a full show and I look forward to the next time I get to share a stage with him.

It was great to see lots of old faces and some new ones, it gave me the kick up the arse I need at the minute. To those of you who joined the mailing list, I will be in touch very soon. The first single will be finished by Easter and released shortly after. I will send you your free copy along with a list of shows!

Until then it's back to work, but at least it's Friday!
The Canny Fringe Festival - Newcastle
Just finished the long drive back from Newcastle. I want to say a massive thank you to Jay Landman who invited me to come up and play at The Canny Fringe Festival. Held at the Northumbria Student Union, it was a pleasure to join a huge list of artists for a great day of live music. Jay is a student and has taken the 'live music' society and made it into something worth talking about. Running a two day event with multiple stages, and he did a great job. Thanks for letting me be a part of it!

I played some brand new songs and they seemed to work ok with just an acoustic guitar which was nice. The band will be hitting the road very soon but I plan to keep doing acoustic shows in between and I hope to be able to bring the same material to both.

Also on the bill was the always lovely Gaz Brookfield. He's nearing the end of his latest UK tour and it was great to catch up and see some of his new album first hand. I will be supporting Gaz later this week at Bedford Esquires - Thursday 9th March. After seeing his short festival set I can't wait to watch a full show. I know it's a Thursday but I really think it's gunna be a good one!

See you there.
We're getting close...
Hey folks,

First of all thank you to all the guys who came out last weekend. We played MK11 in Milton Keynes on Saturday with the amazing Wah Wah Club. For a cold January night, the week before payday it was a great suprise to see so many people out and about. Then on Sunday I went and played at Molly Malones in Hitchin for Rowan Patel's new acoustic night, which was lovely and sophisticated. Although I am playing with a band now I'm still going to be doing some acoustic shows here and there and it was nice to try out some acoustic versions of the new tunes.

Thank you especially to all the people who signed up to our mailing list over the weekend! We are going to be pushing the mailing list as much as we can and in return you guys will receive free downloads of all our stuff (as soon as we get them finished). We're going to try and create a private area on the website for mailing list members where you can get your hands on a load of exclusive content. While we get it sorted, get yourselves on the list so you're ready. We won't be sending out streams of pointless emails, we will only send you one if we have something to give/show you.

So, the new songs... Well the good news is the first two are getting really close. I have been spending my evenings mixing them until the early hours of the morning and I think we are nearly there. Those on the mailing list, I will email you when the first is ready to go! We are going to put out two singles and then we have four brand new tracks which will be released later in the year as a 4-track EP.

We are also going to be shooting some videos. Music videos for the tracks and then some live recording stuff... but one step at a time ey?

Keep your eyes peels, not long now!
MK11 - Milton Keynes - 21st Jan
I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, now it's time to get things moving. We have been spending time in the studio putting things together and we are getting closer and closer every week. As soon as the first song is ready to go we will put it out for you. At the minute it looks like we will release two singles, and then a four track EP later in the year.

We played with Kev Maher over Christmas at Club 85, photos have arrived and it looks like people had a good night.

Next Saturday we are heading to MK11, Kiln Farm in Milton Keynes. We will be playing with Wah Wah Club who are releasing a new single. It should be a great night, come on down.

After that we are back to the studio to get this stuff ready to go. Not long now, I promise!
Happy New Year
Happy new year everyone!

Here is a little taster of what we've been working on in the studio, and also an excuse for me to try and get to grips with video editing!

More to come very soon, keep your eyes peeled, and make sure that you have 'liked' my facebook page.

I hope the hangover isn't too bad.
Merry Christmas
Another year almost over, a relatively uneventful one from me. Behind the scenes however, we have been putting together the next phase. We have six new songs written and partly recorded. We will be releasing a single or two and then an EP a bit later in the year.

Thank you to everyone who came down to Club 85 on Friday, we had a great night. It was the first time we have played most of those songs and they went off without any major dramas. The band hit the ground running and we had a great show. We have a bit of work left to do but we will be booking up some more shows as we move into 2017.

If you want to be sure not to miss anything as we get things moving forward, you can ‘like’ the Facebook page, ‘follow’ the twitter, and all the other business. We are in the process of setting up a mailing list which I will tell you all about as soon as it is ready.

This website will be the base though, all new information will be on here, as well as a definitive list of upcoming shows – starting with MK11 on the 21st Jan!

We hope you have had a lovely Christmas, and we look forward to seeing you all in the new year.

Club 85, Hitchin - Friday 23rd Dec
This Friday - 23rd Dec - 19:30

Me and my band will be heading back to Club 85 in Hitchin. We've just finished rehearsals and we are ready to present a whole set of new songs.

We still have a bit of work to do in the studio before we can release them to you but you can come and have a sneak peak on Friday.

We will be playing alongside Jordan Bradley, and The Scalleywags.

Sure to be a good night, can't wait to get this show back on the road.
New Website, New Band, New Year

As you can see it has been over a year since I last updated this website. It has been a strange year. The 4th album has been delayed and then scrapped multiple times as I struggled to figure out what I wanted to do.

In January I decided to put together a full time, permanent band for my music. This came about after finding a drummer and realising it could actually be possible. Since then we have been in the rehearsal room writing, rehearsing, and trying to figure out how things are going to come together. I believe we are nearly there, with just a few minor creases to iron out. We have a selection of songs that are written, partly recorded, but pretty much ready to go. `The plan is now to finish those off over the next few months and have something to release to you in the new year. This will of course be accompanied by a stretch of shows, and we can't wait to get out and play for you!

In fact, we have a show at Club 85 in Hitchin on Friday 23rd Dec 2016. We will be playing all of our new songs and a couple of the old ones.

I'm sorry for being quiet for so long but hopefully things will get back on track in January.

As ever, I'll keep you posted

See you at 85!
